Toyota LandCruiser 300 Series – Full-Time Tourer Build

When you think of the ultimate off-grid touring rig, this 300 Series LandCruiser is about as serious as it gets. Unlike many of the weekend builds we complete, this one is a dedicated full-time tourer that’s already travelled around Australia. It came back to us at Accelerate Off-Grid Touring for even more upgrades to make life on the road smoother, easier, and more comfortable.

Here’s a full breakdown of what went into this epic setup.

Drawer System & Fridge

We fitted an RV Storage Solutions premium black drawer system with a travel slide.
Instead of a chest fridge, the customer opted for a Bushman 65L upright fridge, making it far more practical and accessible.

The slide-out feature allows easy access, even for shorter people, and doubles as a prep bench. A double induction cooktop has been integrated, effectively turning the rear of the Cruiser into a full kitchen.

Additional storage drawers provide room for recovery gear, food, and all the essentials needed for extended travel.

Travel Buddy & Storage

Mounted above the drawers is a 12V Travel Buddy oven, perfect for pies, slow cooking, and meals on the go.

We also installed a twin ARB air compressor with switch and air chuck, along with JBA strip lighting for visibility.

KAON side storage panels make use of otherwise wasted space, creating compartments ideal for clothing, towels, and grab-and-go items.

Electrical System

This build is powered by a huge 400Ah lithium system made up of two 200Ah Invicta Super Slim batteries. These slimline units fit neatly under the drawer system and come with a 5-year full replacement warranty.

Charging is managed by a Redarc Alpha 50A DC-DC charger, offering advanced features such as:

• Jump start mode via the app
• Start battery trickle maintenance
• Adjustable alternator draw (5–50A)
• Solar priority charging
• Dust and water resistance

On the roof, we installed a 190W solar panel, with provisions for adding external panels for long stays.

For 240V power, the Cruiser runs an Enerdrive 2600W inverter, large enough to power both induction plates simultaneously. A Victron Smart Shunt provides at-a-glance monitoring, backed up by the Invicta and Redarc apps.

Connectivity with Starlink

The customer also wanted reliable internet anywhere, so we mounted a Starlink Mini on the ARB base rack using an Outcamp bracket.

A 12V converter and remote switch allow control directly from the caravan. This setup means constant internet access for navigation, work, and streaming – a must-have for full-time touring.

Rear Bar & Touring Setup

Out back, the rear bar holds two jerry cans, the spare wheel, and Maxtrax, all mounted low for easy access. Extra reverse lighting adds safety, while a GVM upgrade to 3920kg keeps everything legal and balanced.

For vision, the owners chose Clearview towing mirrors with power-fold, heating, and full extension. These are essential for a rig where the rear-view mirror is almost useless.

Cab Upgrades

Inside the cab, we fitted our new 300 Series UHF handpiece mount, securing the GME XRS mic within easy reach. The antenna is mounted to the bullbar for maximum performance.

Final Thoughts

This 300 Series is a true full-time tourer, ready for extended travel anywhere in Australia. With 400Ah of lithium power, a fully equipped kitchen, reliable Starlink connectivity, and smart storage solutions, it’s set up for comfort, capability, and independence on the road.
