Description

This isn't the first under-bonnet dual battery kit built for the Ford Ranger Next-Gen and Ranger Super Duty, and that was never the goal. We let the early kits hit the market first, looked at where additional support was needed, and used that knowledge to engineer a seriously solid under-bonnet dual battery system for these platforms.

Every kit is built around a five-piece, laser-cut metal mounting system that ties the entire assembly directly into the vehicle rather than relying on the battery tray alone. A top strap carries the integrated REDARC Alpha charger mount, while the battery tray, support arm and additional mounting brackets work together to distribute the load across multiple vehicle mounting points.

The result is a properly supported battery and charger setup engineered for touring conditions, corrugations and off-road use. Installation uses existing factory mounting locations with no drilling or cutting required, and every kit is supplied pre-wired and pre-terminated to take as much work as possible out of the installation.

The system is fully configurable depending on how you use your Ranger. Choose between a REDARC Alpha 25A or Alpha 50A DC-DC charger, add an Invicta Xero lithium battery or supply your own compatible lithium battery, and choose from multiple rear power options including socket wiring, a 12V Distribution Box or Ranger factory-style Socket Plate.

Important Fitment Information: The Ford Ranger Raptor is not compatible due to interference with the factory airbox. Further testing is currently being completed across Ranger variants and the Ford Everest before additional compatibility is confirmed.

Battery weight limits are vehicle-specific. The Ford Ranger Next-Gen has a maximum allowable battery weight of 15kg, while the Ranger Super Duty allows up to 20kg. The iTechworld ITECH160X PRO 160Ah is not suitable for the regular Ranger Next-Gen and is suitable for the Ranger Super Duty only.

Configurable Rear Power – Choose socket wiring only, add our 12V Distribution Box for canopy and tray setups, or select the factory-style Ranger Socket Plate.

Multiple Battery Options – Choose an Invicta Xero battery or supply your own compatible lithium battery within the dimensional and vehicle-specific weight limits.

The ITECH120X PRO has been physically fitted during our development.

The ITECH160X PRO 160Ah is not suitable for the regular Ford Ranger Next-Gen and is suitable for the Ranger Super Duty only.

Ranger Super Duty Hardware Upgrade

The standard mounting hardware supplied with this kit can be used with both the Ford Ranger Next-Gen and Ranger Super Duty. However, there is a difference between the factory mounting holes used in each vehicle.

The Ranger Next-Gen uses circular mounting holes, while the Ranger Super Duty uses existing hexagonal mounting holes.

Standard round nutserts can be used in the Super Duty; however, for the most precise vehicle-specific installation, we recommend adding the optional Ranger Super Duty Hex Nutsert Upgrade Pack.

This specialised hardware is offered separately so Ranger Next-Gen owners aren't paying for components they don't require.

Socket Options

No Socket Wiring

No rear socket wiring is included.

If you choose to add your own rear power system, you can connect directly to the MIDI fuse outputs located on top of the dual battery kit, giving you flexibility to configure the rear of the vehicle exactly how you want.

Socket Wiring Only

Includes 2 x lengths of 7 metres of 8 B&S cable with durable self-winding sheathing.

The wiring is pre-terminated to connect directly to the MIDI fuses under the bonnet and finished with two Anderson plugs at the rear.

Perfect if you want flexible output options – flush mount the Andersons, connect them to your own socket box, or use the cabling as the starting point for your own rear power setup.

Socket Wiring + 12V Distribution Box

Everything included in the Socket Wiring option, plus our 12V Distribution Box for a complete rear power solution.

The Distribution Box features:

  • 2 x Grey Anderson outputs
  • 2 x 12V cigarette sockets
  • 1 x Engel fridge socket
  • 1 x Dual USB-A/USB-C outlet

Designed to be mounted in your canopy, tub or tray for a clean, ready-to-use rear power setup.

Socket Wiring + 12V Socket Plate

Everything included in the Socket Wiring option, plus our replacement 12V Socket Plate for Rangers fitted with the factory plastic socket panel.

The replacement plate retains the roller-shutter switch and provides:

Designed for the Ford Ranger Super Duty platform, with further vehicle testing currently being completed.

Maximum Battery Weight: 20kg

The Super Duty's higher allowable battery weight also allows fitment of the iTechworld ITECH160X PRO 160Ah, subject to all dimensional and fitment requirements.

Ford Ranger Raptor – NOT COMPATIBLE

The Ford Ranger Raptor is confirmed as not compatible with this kit due to interference with the factory airbox.

Ford Everest – TESTING IN PROGRESS

Ford Everest compatibility is currently undergoing further testing and should not be considered confirmed fitment at this stage.

Shipping Policy

This kit has a 7 business day fulfilment time. This means your order will be picked, assembled (if required), and prepared for dispatch within seven business days of purchase.

Once dispatched, you will receive a tracking number via email so you can monitor the progress of your delivery.

Estimated delivery timeframes within Australia:

  • Standard Shipping: 5–7 business days
  • Express Shipping: 3–5 business days

Please note:

  • Delivery timeframes are estimates and may vary depending on your location and the shipping carrier.
  • Delivery timeframes do not include the 7 business day fulfilment time.
  • Tracking updates may take time to appear after dispatch while the carrier processes the shipment.
  • Once your order has been dispatched, it is in the hands of the shipping carrier. For delivery updates, delays, or enquiries, we recommend contacting the carrier directly using your tracking number.

Lithium Battery and Dangerous Goods Shipping

If you purchase a dual battery kit that includes a lithium battery, the shipment will be classified as Dangerous Goods and sent via TNT/FedEx.

The lithium battery and the remainder of your kit may be packed separately and may arrive at different times, even though they are travelling under the same tracking or consignment number.

Dangerous Goods shipments must pass through additional handling and safety checkpoints while in transit. They may be temporarily held at these checkpoints for processing, which means we cannot provide an exact delivery date or ETA. Tracking updates may also pause for a period while the consignment is being processed.

These delays are part of TNT/FedEx’s Dangerous Goods transport process and are outside our control. Please continue monitoring your tracking information or contact the carrier directly for the latest available update.

We take care to ensure your order is securely packaged, correctly declared and dispatched as quickly as possible.

Returns Policy – 30 Days

We offer a 30-day return period from the date your order is delivered.

To be eligible for a return, the product must be:

  • In as-new, resellable condition
  • Unused and uninstalled
  • In the original packaging, including all supplied components and hardware
  • Free from damage, modification or signs of installation

Returns that do not meet these conditions may be refused.

The customer is responsible for all return shipping costs.

Once the returned product has been received, inspected and confirmed to meet our return criteria, a refund will be processed to the original payment method.

Original shipping costs are non-refundable.

Exchanges

If you wish to exchange a product for a different item, the following applies:

  • The original product must be returned in as-new, resellable condition and in its original packaging.
  • The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the original product.
  • The customer is also responsible for the shipping cost of the replacement product.

Once the original item has been received and inspected, we will arrange dispatch of the replacement product.

  • We recommend using a tracked shipping service when returning products, as we cannot be responsible for items lost in transit.

Does this dual battery kit fit the Ford Ranger Raptor?

No. The Ford Ranger Raptor is not compatible with this under-bonnet dual battery kit due to interference with the factory airbox.

Does this kit fit the Ford Everest?

Everest fitment is currently undergoing further testing. While the Everest shares elements of its platform with the Ranger, we are not confirming compatibility until we have completed our own vehicle testing.

What is the maximum battery weight?

The maximum allowable battery weight depends on your vehicle.

The Ford Ranger Next-Gen has a maximum battery weight of 15kg, while the Ranger Super Duty has a maximum battery weight of 20kg.

Any customer-supplied battery must remain within the applicable weight limit as well as the dimensional and terminal requirements of the tray.

Can I fit an iTechworld ITECH160X PRO 160Ah battery?

The ITECH160X PRO 160Ah is suitable for the Ranger Super Duty only.

It is not suitable for the regular Ford Ranger Next-Gen, which has a maximum allowable battery weight of 15kg.

Can I supply my own lithium battery?

Yes. Select No Battery when ordering and supply your own compatible lithium battery.

The available battery space is approximately 308mm (L) x 168mm (W) x 220mm (H). Your battery must also remain within the maximum allowable weight of 15kg for the Ranger Next-Gen or 20kg for the Ranger Super Duty.

Always confirm battery dimensions, weight and terminal configuration before purchasing a third-party battery.

Do I need to drill or cut my Ranger to install the kit?

No. The mounting system has been designed around existing factory mounting locations, so installation does not require drilling or cutting the vehicle.

What's the difference between the REDARC Alpha 25A and Alpha 50A?

Both chargers offer Bluetooth monitoring, solar charging, smart alternator compatibility and start battery support functionality.

The Alpha 50A provides a higher charging output for customers wanting faster auxiliary battery charging, while the Alpha 25A is suited to lower charging requirements.

Can I run a fridge and other 12V accessories in the rear?

Yes. You can add rear socket wiring to the kit and choose between Socket Wiring Only, our 12V Distribution Box, or the factory-style Ranger 12V Socket Plate, depending on how your vehicle is set up.

Is the kit supplied pre-wired?

Yes. The under-bonnet system is supplied pre-wired and pre-terminated to make DIY installation as straightforward as possible. The exact rear wiring supplied will depend on the socket option you select.

Is the Ranger Super Duty installation different from the regular Next-Gen Ranger?

The overall mounting system is designed around both platforms; however, there are differences in the factory mounting holes.

The Ranger Super Duty uses hexagonal holes in relevant mounting locations, so we offer an optional Ranger Super Duty Hex Nutsert Upgrade Pack for a more vehicle-specific installation.
