Description

Take your Prado 250’s off-grid capability to the next level with the highest-capacity underfloor dual battery system available for the platform. Built around a massive 220Ah slimline lithium battery, this premium system provides serious power for extended touring, fridges, lighting, induction cooking, inverters, compressors and other high-demand accessories—all while remaining hidden beneath the rear floor. With no battery box taking up valuable cargo space, you can carry more gear and retain a clean, factory-style interior.

Every major component has been designed, tested, pre-mounted and pre-wired specifically for the Toyota LandCruiser Prado 250 Series. The cabling is cut to length, terminated, fused, protected and clearly labelled, removing the need to calculate cable sizes, crimp terminals or design a system from scratch. The custom laser-cut tray securely houses the battery, REDARC charger, Quad MIDI fuse holder, six-way fuse block and Victron SmartShunt together as one integrated system, with colour-coded Anderson connections making installation straightforward.

At the heart of the kit is your choice of a REDARC Alpha 25A or Alpha 50A BCDC charger, with the 50A model programmed to 40A for Prado compatibility. The Alpha provides intelligent alternator and solar charging, Bluetooth control, Green Power Priority™, automatic start-battery maintenance and the ability to help recover a flat start battery in as little as 15 minutes. Combined with accurate Victron SmartShunt battery monitoring and compatibility with our socket banks, inverter kits, compressor systems and RV Solutions drawers, this is the ultimate hidden-power upgrade for Prado 250 owners wanting maximum capacity in a genuinely comprehensive DIY package.

FAQs

Does this kit work with the Accelerate inverter/compressor bracket for the Prado 250?

Yes. This underfloor kit is designed to work perfectly with our inverter/compressor bracket system.

If you purchase both together, we will pre-mount the inverter mega fuse onto the battery tray for you to make installation even easier.

Can I run socket banks on both sides of the vehicle?

Yes. Simply add the Dual Socket Upgrade (add-on product) to your order.

This includes the Prado-specific Y-lead that safely connects both socket banks to the underfloor system.

Are instructions included with the kit?

Yes. Every kit comes with a full installation video and a detailed PDF instruction manual including wiring diagrams, photos, and step-by-step guidance.

Do I need to run any cabling from the engine bay to the rear?

No. This is a self-contained underfloor system.

All charging, fusing, solar input, and output wiring is located in the rear of the vehicle — there’s zero cabling run through the vehicle.

Does the REDARC Alpha 50A work in the Prado 250?

Yes — when limited to 40A.

We pre-program the Alpha 50A to a 40A limit, making it fully suitable for the Prado 250 while still offering faster charging and jumpstart capability.

Will this fit with drawer systems?

This kit is:

  • Compatible with RV Solutions (RVSS) drawer systems
  • Not compatible with the RVSS false floor (battery height clearance)
  • Not yet tested with other aftermarket drawer or false-floor systems

Does this kit work in both 5-seat and 7-seat Prado models?

Yes. The tray and wiring loom are designed to work with both seating configurations.

Will the 220Ah battery fit under the factory floor without raising it?

Yes. The custom tray is engineered specifically to house the underfloor 220Ah battery while retaining the factory floor height.

Does my Alpha DC-DC charger have temperature protection?

Yes. The Alpha DC-DC charger has intelligent thermal protection built in.

  • If the internal temperature exceeds ~55°C, the charger will gradually reduce output to protect internal components.
  • If the internal temperature reaches ~80°C, the charger will fully shut down to prevent damage.

Once temperatures return to a safe operating range, normal charging will automatically resume.

I installed the 220Ah underfloor battery system with jumpstart function and Redarc Alpha 50 BCDC charger. The install was quite easy for me to do. Apart from when I was sent a wrong part and the charger and shunt not being programmed for me. This was quickly rectified by Andrew who was most helpful even answering an email on a Saturday afternoon. The system works great and I am really happy with its performance.

This kit has a one-week build time before dispatch. Once assembled, it will be shipped via TNT.

If your order includes a lithium battery, please note it will be classified as Dangerous Goods. These shipments often pass through multiple checkpoints and may experience additional delays. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Dangerous Goods, couriers are unable to provide accurate estimated delivery dates.

Once your order has been shipped, you’ll receive a tracking number. If you don’t see regular tracking updates through the link provided, we recommend calling TNT directly on 13 11 50 with your tracking number. As the shipment is now in the hands of the courier, it’s best for the receiver to contact TNT directly for updates.
