Farm Truck Fit-Out: 79 Series Gets a 200Ah Lithium Powerhouse
This 79 Series might look like an everyday farm truck, but open the canopy and you’ll find a full off-grid power setup built to handle work, adventure and everything in between. The brief for this fit-out was simple:
✔ 200Ah of lithium
✔ 2000W inverter
✔ Keep as much usable space as possible
Here’s how we made it happen.
Power System Overview
To keep things slim and efficient, we built a custom box in-house to house the full setup neatly against the canopy wall. Inside the box, we’ve packed in:
-
Invicta 200Ah Super Slim Lithium Battery
Mounted at the back of the box, this battery does all the heavy lifting. It’s Bluetooth enabled and fits perfectly behind the design with minimal space intrusion. -
Enerdrive 2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter
Mounted in front of the battery, the inverter runs to double power points on either side of the canopy for quick and easy access to 240V power wherever you are. -
Redarc BCDC Core 40A Charger
This charger handles both vehicle input and future rooftop solar. It’ll easily keep the system topped up whether you’re working or touring. -
Victron Battery Monitor (Black)
No need to rely on Bluetooth in the paddock — this display gives you an instant read on your power levels right there in the canopy.
Sockets & Outputs
Around the canopy, we’ve added a range of 12V charging options including:
-
Anderson plugs
External and internal options for general use and rooftop solar. -
Dedicated fridge circuit
Mounted underneath the box so you don’t need cables dangling across your setup. -
USB-A, USB-C & Cig Sockets
Spread throughout the canopy for convenience.
Interior Lighting
We’ve installed white/amber dimmable strip lighting on the canopy doors and internals. Each light has its own switch and lets you easily switch between work mode and camp mode.
Design Process
This system was fully designed and built in-house by our product designer, Liam. Every box starts with a custom brief and ends with a laser-cut layout tailored to the vehicle. For this one, we relocated the circuit breaker placement to keep everything accessible but out of harm’s way — a key improvement based on feedback from previous builds.
Final Thoughts
This setup is proof that even a hard-working farm ute can still be fully kitted out for off-grid power. The end result? A clean, slimline canopy layout with everything needed to run fridges, tools, and charging gear — all while keeping space free for gear and day-to-day use.
