Silverado 2500 Build – Hidden 12V Powerhouse Under the Seat

We’ve taken this Silverado 2500 to the next level with a hidden under-seat dual battery setup. Custom-designed and built at Accelerate Off-Grid Touring, this system includes a 200Ah lithium battery, 2000W inverter, 50A DC-DC charger, RedVision control and enough power to run anything off-grid.

We just wrapped up one of our most impressive Chevrolet Silverado 2500 builds to date – and while the outside is blacked out, jacked up, and built to turn heads, the real magic is hidden inside. Under the rear seat is a completely custom 12V power system capable of running just about anything off-grid.

Let’s take a look at how we turned this Silverado into an off-grid touring beast.

A Full Power Station, Hidden Under the Seat

For this build, we designed and fabricated an under-seat cubby entirely in-house. Made from 3mm aluminium and finished in a ProTexture Black powder coat, the cubby blends perfectly with the interior while housing a serious amount of gear.

Inside, we’ve packed:

• ⚡ Redarc RS3 2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter (with safety switch)

• 🔋 Redarc Alpha 50A DC-DC Charger – R Model

• 📲 Redarc Smart Battery Shunt with Bluetooth

• 🔌 Redarc TVMS Rogue Power Distribution Module

• 🖥️ Redarc RedVision Display Screen

This compact setup fits perfectly under the rear bench seat and retains full access to the factory jack and tyre tools. The result? A stealthy, safe, and powerful system that takes zero usable space from the cabin.

Why We Used the Redarc Alpha R Model

The Alpha range includes both B and R models. The key difference? The B model has built-in Bluetooth, while the R model uses the Redarc Smart Shunt and integrates with RedVision.

In this case, since we already installed the TVMS Rogue and RedVision screen, all battery monitoring and switching is handled through the RedVision app and display. No need for multiple Bluetooth devices – it’s all streamlined and intuitive.

The Redarc Alpha 50A handles both vehicle and solar charging, with a dedicated solar input down at the towbar for plug-and-play portable panels. Charging performance is top-notch, and the Silverado’s alternator has no problem feeding the system on the move.

Power to Run Just About Anything

With the 2000W Redarc RS3 inverter, this Silverado is ready to power:

We’ve fitted 240V outlets, USB-A and USB-C, cig sockets, and Anderson plugs throughout the build, including front-facing panels, side wings, and the tub – so no matter where you are, there’s power right where you need it.

Clean Control With RedVision

Mounted on the passenger side is the RedVision display, allowing you to monitor charge in/out, battery state, and control all connected circuits. As more gear is added – from lights to compressors – switching can be done from the screen or via the app.

Custom Centre Console Mount & Accessories

To keep everything tidy up front, we 3D-printed a custom mount for the centre console. It houses:

• 💡 Driving Light Switches

• 🛻 Roller Tub Cover Control

• ⚙️ Future Expansion Switches

• 📊 ScanGauge 3 for vehicle diagnostics

This gives the driver complete control, easy access, and a factory-style finish that doesn’t interfere with the driving experience.

Simple Yet Functional Tub Layout

Because most of the power gear lives under the seat, we kept things clean in the rear. In the tub you’ll find:

• ⚡ Anderson plug to run the fridge

• ☕ 240V outlet for tailgate coffee machines

There’s nothing bulky or exposed – just clean, practical, ready-to-tour power.
